Star Road Maps
Methods of Introspection and Tools for Dreaming, for Listening to the Soul
About Me
I'm Rotem Raz — an artist, researcher, and educator. My doctoral research looked closely at how artists use introspection and artmaking as tools for self-discovery, and that same question — how do we come to know ourselves more truly? — is what led me to astrology.I didn't come to the birth chart looking for predictions. I came to it the way I come to any material in the studio: curious what it might reflect back. Astrology turned out to be a remarkably rich language for that — symbolic, layered, and old enough to hold real complexity. I don't use it to tell you what will happen. I use it to help you see more clearly what's already moving in you.
I've been a student of astrology for over 30 years — obsessed with it, honestly, for just as long. Along the way I've studied with astrologer Ruti Aharoni, whose teaching shaped how I read a chart and how I hold this work. Star Road Maps is where these two threads meet: my research into introspection and creativity, and my three-decade study of astrology as a symbolic, interpretive practice.
My Approach
I believe we are creative beings. We have the agency and capacity to live with purpose — a fulfilling, meaningful life — and my role is to support you in that process.Through conversation, I explore with you how the language of astrology suggests new perspectives on your past and present, and on the trajectories opening in front of you. My approach centers on empowering you to commit to goals you've identified yourself, and to trust your own decision-making.A few things that shape how I work:
Forward-facing. We're not here to diagnose why you are the way you are. We're here to work with who you are right now, and where you're reaching toward next.
You are the authority. The chart opens questions; it doesn't hand down answers. I'll offer reflections — what I see in the symbols and in you — but you decide what's true.
Wonder before analysis. Some of the richest insight doesn't arrive through explanation. I bring my art practice into sessions because the material — a symbol, an image, a question sat with rather than solved — often knows something before the mind catches up.
Belonging and contribution. Astrology, for me, isn't just personal. It's a way of asking where you fit, and what you're here to give.
Methods I draw on: birth (natal) charts, forecasting techniques (transits, progressions, profections, zodiacal releasing), and horary — the art of answering a specific question through the chart cast for the moment it's asked.
What I Offer
Single Chart Deep Dive — 1:1 Session
A 75–90 minute session working with your natal chart as a mirror for where you are and where you're headed. We'll follow what's alive for you — a decision, a transition, a pattern you keep meeting — and let the chart open new angles on it. Sessions are conversational, not scripted; bring a question if you have one, or bring nothing and see what surfaces.Best for: artists and creative practitioners, and anyone in a season of self-growth or transition who wants a reflective, non-clinical space to think out loud.
Ongoing Work
For those who want to return to the chart over time — tracking a forecasting cycle, working through a longer creative or life transition — we can structure a short series of sessions rather than a single meeting. (Available on request for now — happy to design this together.)
Full-Year Course — In Development
A year-long course exploring astrology as a language for creativity and self-development, built through research-based, arts-integrated learning. More details coming as this takes shape — follow @starroadmaps for updates.
