Lo Ba Yom (2013)

Exhibited in YYZ Gallery, and North York Performing Arts Centre, Toronto

Responding to Hayim Nahman Biyalik’s Poem “Lo BaYom Ve Lo BaLayla” - Not during the day, nor at night - is a poem about a young woman awaiting her shidukh (match), this installation juxtaposes traditional Jewish matchmaking with imaginary Israeli archetypes: the nurse, the vampire bride, the naked warrior, and the working youth / the scout (Ha’Noar Ha’Oved).
